It’s that time of year where we seem to fly through holidays in a flurry. Before we have our Halloween Costumes properly stored, we’re pulling out the cornucopias and re-purposing our pumpkins for the Thanksgiving holiday. The leaves start to turn and that nip is in the air letting us know it’s time for sweaters, scarves and of course … boots.I thought this would the perfect time for me to share with you my first purchase in my quest to obtain The One Hundred. For background on The One Hundred …visit the page, but basically it is my quest to obtain 100 fashion classics as described in Nina Garcia’s, The One Hundred. Blue Sunday’s One Hundred is my take on that list. And given the time of year, I set out on my quest for the perfect pair of boots.
The overall styling on this boot is great. The silver accents are minimal enough were they don’t interfere with the standout feature of this boot which is the quilting.
Here are a few recommendations from Nina about styling with boots:
The version (of boot) every girl needs comes just below the knee and looks best when worn with skirts that hit just above the knee.
If you want to be daring, get the boot that goes above the knee, or if you want to be a bit mod, get the one that hits mid-calf (the go-go boot).
If wearing knee-high boots with miniskirts, it’s probably best to wear opaque tights.
I love, love, love my version of the riding boot. These will be perfect as Texas is bracing for its first ice storm of the season this weekend. These boots are Isaac Mizrahi and can be found at QVC.
Come back and visit me soon to find out what’s next on The One Hundred.
